After seven meaningful years of service, Mr Gasper Tan will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer of Samaritans of Singapore Limited (SOS), effective 31 March 2026. Since 2019, Gasper has led SOS with unwavering dedication and compassionate leadership, strengthening our mission of providing hope and support to those in crisis. Under his stewardship, SOS has continued to strengthen its mission of providing hope and support to those in crisis.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Gasper for his seven years of dedicated service as Chief Executive Officer of SOS. Under his leadership, SOS has navigated unprecedented challenges, strengthened its resilience and expanded its impact in suicide prevention. Gasper’s unwavering commitment to our mission and his compassion for the community have left an enduring mark on the organisation. We thank him for his invaluable contributions and wish him the very best in his next chapter.” — Mr Roel Faes, Chairman of SOS

We are pleased to announce that Mr Terry Siow will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (Designate) on 1 March 2026 and officially take over the helm at SOS from 1 April 2026. Terry has been serving as Deputy Chief Executive Officer over the past seven months, working closely with Gasper, the management team, and our Board of Directors. During this time, he has driven many of SOS’s strategic priorities and developed a deep understanding of our mission and operations.

Terry brings with him extensive leadership experience across both the public and private sectors, having held senior roles in organisations such as the Infocomm Media Development Authority, NTUC, and A*STAR. Earlier in his career, he served in the Singapore Armed Forces, rising to the rank of Brigadier General. His breadth of experience, combined with his passion for mental health and suicide prevention, positions him well to lead SOS into its next phase of growth.

Together, we remain steadfast in our mission: to be an available lifeline to anyone in crisis.
