Singapore reported a total of 476 suicides last year, a concerning rise of 25.9% from 378 in 2021, and the highest recorded suicide deaths since 2000. This equates to more than one suicide death per day.
In conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day, Spark the Change Fest 2023 is an initiative by SOS to rally the community to come together to support those in need of crisis care, thinking about or affected by suicide. While SOS continues to provide our services for those in distress, we can't do it alone. Now is the time for us to play a part in suicide prevention and spark the change together. Spark the Change Fest is also a fundraising initiative for SOS to continue to provide our services for free. Every dollar contributed to our cause allows us to have a tangible impact on individuals in distress.
